MILK Concept Boutique: The most on-trend pieces for your new home
MILK Concept Boutique is home to the finest luxury Italian interiors and their London show room, located on Shoreditch’s Garden Walk. It’s one of the best spots to find treasures for your new home. MILK focuses on bringing eco-friendly materials, eclectic designs and emerging talents together, and provides everything you could need from furniture to accessories and styling details. We spoke with Luca, Director of MILK, to showcase the best pieces available to elevate your home to the next level.
When styling a new home, it’s important to focus on two or three key elements and you can shape the rest of the design around them. This way you can make a bold statement without overwhelming the space. For furnishing apartments it’s important to maximise space by playing with dimensions and textures so even smaller spaces can come alive.
Bringing a concept to life
When people move into a new property, it can be hard to imagine how to live there beyond functional furniture. We do get customers coming in who want an individual item however we also want people who need helping bringing a whole vision to life. It might be something they’ve seen on social media or at design fairs and we can then work collaboratively to source items for their dream design. What’s fantastic about Shoreditch is everyone is keen to bring personality to their homes and source unique items to create really fun, diverse spaces.
Blue and Green Marble
At this year’s Salone del Mobile design fair in Milan, blue and green marble was very on-trend. One option is purchasing the Eero Saarinen dining table which is available in green marble, a striking option and definitely a talking piece at a dinner party. You could tap into this colourway with a more subtle choice, like our Tria Chair by Cole’ Italia in the light blue design, bringing playful dimensions to functional furniture.
Brass touches
Brass is another design element that is having a big moment right now, whilst also being timeless for your home. Our Gervasoni ceiling lamp in brass combines both ductility and decorative elements, a striking addition to any space. Adding standout lighting is an easy way to transform a space and bring it to a new level.
City living dimensions
Small spaces can be transformed with a bold wallpaper choice, such as our Nuvolette wallpaper with a whimsical cloud design, or you could bring the outside inside with a Chiavi Segrete leaf design.
Decorative wall plates have gone from an outdated fashion into a sought-after addition to Shoreditch homes. We have a huge range in stock, so buyers can curate their favourite plates whilst every piece works together. Our Piero Fornasetti plates have recurrent themes, including the sun, playing cards, harlequins, hands, self-portraits, but the most widely used image is the portrait of opera singer Lina Cavalieri, with her striking eyes appearing throughout the collection .
To bring in different heights, we have an array of poufs that can be a perfect addition to your living space. Our Paolo Graselli Geo pouf in extra lusso fabric ties into the blues and green trend right now and can add a touch of colour and personality to your space.
