The Curtain Theatre is set to be the centrepiece for Galliard’s joint venture and new luxury development, The Stage. It is said to be the best-preserved example of Elizabethan theatre in the UK, according to excavators at the Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA). Named after the nearby Curtain Close, the unearthing of the theatre was an inspiration for the mixed-use project, which will feature a heritage centre and sunken amphitheatre for public display and enjoyment.
