Estates Gazette - Shakespeare’s Legacy Lives on at The Stage

The countdown for the excavation of Shakespeare’s Curtain Theatre in Shoreditch begins, coinciding with the 400th anniversary of the playwright’s death. The remains will be featured in a heritage centre within a new development, amply named The Stage, which will house a 37-storey residential tower and 400,000 of mixed-use space. The development – Galliard’s joint venture with Cain Hoy, McCourt, Vanke and the Estate Office Shoreditch – is expected to be completed in 2019.
