BBC News Online – Discoveries Unveiled at The Curtain Theatre

The excavation of The Curtain Theatre is well-underway, and archaeologists have already made insightful discoveries, including a bird whistle which could have been used for sound  effects. The theatre’s foundations also show that it was rectangular and not curved, but more is expected to be found out as the dig continues over the next month. Once complete, the remains will be displayed in a heritage centre at Galliard’s new Shoreditch development, The Stage.
