The Curtain Theatre – the playwright’s original East London playhouse, where The Stage is being built – is said to have been where Henry V was premiered. The American health and fitness club will span 31,000 sq. ft., and will feature a spa, state-of-the-art gymnasium and studios for Pilates, boxing and cycling. The development will also be home to pop-up shops, offices and a heritage centre dedicated to Shakespeare’s Curtain Theatre, which once stood on the site in the 16th century.
